How to Announce Your Pregnancy - The Fun and Creative Way

Congratulations! You're pregnant! Pregnancy is an incredible feeling and a very special event. Whether you found out just yesterday or few month ago, here are few ideas to announce your pregnancy.

Telling Daddy

Remember this is your partner's child too and it's a special moment for both of you. Choose a creative way to share your news and make it memorable.

Some people would enjoy the methods described below, and some would prefer a more serious approach. Make sure that you make a night to remember for a good reason, and not a bad one.

Have a romantic dinner for two with candle lights, it may be your last time for a while, between morning sickness and raising your little one. While your partner is expecting a four-course meal, you'll be serving a baby food: serve up baby carrots, baby back ribs and anything else you can think as baby. At the end, pour apple juice instead of wine and hand him a present such as baby shoes.

There is a pretty good chance that you can't tell your partner right away because he's away on business or serving in the armed forces. Don't worry, there is a solution. Send him a care package with some of the baby items in it. Place a note on top of the book with, "What's My Name, Daddy?" , or whatever you can come up with to ask him to give the baby a name.

You can also see how long it takes him to figure it out. Go out and buy some small baby items. You can find plenty of them at the dollar store. Place things like a pair of booties or a baby bottle around the house where he can see them and he will begin to wonder what is going on. Test it for a week and if he hasn't figured it out yet, prepare the big gift. Have a large teddy bear sitting at the dinner table in the seat beside him with a little sign that says, "Hi Daddy".

Telling Family and Friends

If you have always enjoyed taking photos with your family, this can turn out to be your best family photo ever. Take the first picture, asking them to "Say Cheese!" Then, for the second photo, say, "Everyone say, Lucy's pregnant!" Take a quick snapshot--you'll get a great, stunned look on everyone's faces.

Show up to a family gathering wearing a shirt that announces "Baby on Board" or something related to the pregnancy. The moment you walk in or take off your jacket everyone will figure it out without you ever having to say a word. Be prepared to answer a ton of questions.

It's not every day that you get pregnant, so go out and give people a pleasant surprise that they will remember forever. You may even want to try catching all of it on video, so think ahead and prepare for the big moment, and I'm not meaning the birth.
