Hemorrhoid refers to the swelling and inflammation of veins in rectum and anus. It is quite prevalent in persons who are 50-60 years old. There are many reasons which can be attributed to this situation. These can be your job profile like sitting in an identical posture for long periods, dietary habits like taking in low fiber diets and liquids, odd working hours resulting in erratic sleeping patterns, need to get over the daily regimen fast, chronic diarrhea, hypertension, asthma, smoking and many more.

Pregnancy causes hypertension and increases strain during bowel movements, so hemorrhoids are often associated with pregnancy as well. Pregnancy is a beautiful chapter in every woman's life. It brings along happiness, contentment and wonderful moments. These memories stay there with every woman throughout her life. However, woman has to take extra care so that these memories remain long cherished ones. One of the irritating issues which every pregnant woman dread, is constipation and the associated dreaded hemorrhoids. During pregnancy growing uterus exerts pressure on the pelvic veins and the vena cava, a large vein on the right side of the body that receives blood from the lower limbs. This causes constriction, slowing return of blood from the lower part of your body, which leads to increased pressure on the veins below the uterus and is responsible for dilation and swelling. Constipation causes straining in the area in and around anus. This straining is responsible for hemorrhoids.

An increase in the hormone progesterone during pregnancy causes the walls of your veins to relax, resulting in easier swelling and further aggravation. Progesterone also leads to slowing down of intestinal tract contributing to constipation. The important issue is not to get psyched over these problems rather have an informed view and take precautions so that these wonderful moments of pregnancy remain etched in your memory for all the good reasons. There is a lot you can do to get over anxiety related with hemorrhoids. Though, heredity and pregnancy are two important factors, but hemorrhoids are not inevitable! By taking some precautions and following a strict regimen, one can get away from this problem. But in spite of all precautions, if you have been diagnosed with hemorrhoids, then don't fret. Sky has not fallen over.

Just go through these hemorrhoid pregnancy treatments and you will be fine. Apply an ice pack to the affected area several times a day. Ice may help decrease swelling and discomfort. Fold a soft towel four times and sit over that in warm water for few minutes, 3-4 times a day. Try alternating above two steps. Clean affected area with soft cloth/tissue after every bowel movement. Consult medical practitioner for some ointments. But note that these are to be used only for limited period as their prolonged use may cause more problems. No soap should be used in affected area. Start having food supplements like Agar-agar and cod liver oil. Use natural and herbal creams.
