Action Tramps offer an imaginative range of outdoor wooden play centres for the garden. Distributing throughout the UK since 1987, the PlayCentres are built to a high level of quality for years of regular use. From the Arundel to the York to the Gate Lodge, the play centres are designed as complete stand-alone pieces of equipment.

Action Tramps produce one of the finest range of wooden outdoor play equipment you can find in the UK. The design criteria have included flexibility, safety and above all to provide SOCIAL ACTIVITY, CHALLENGE and FUN for all ages of children.

Selected top grade pine (from forests approved and managed under the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification scheme (PEFC) is used with as few man-made materials as possible. The seasoned timber is then machined, planed smooth with rounded edges and finished to within 1mm tolerances. All fixing holes and nut recesses are drilled, then the timber is pressure-treated using a non-toxic chrominm / cadmium / arsenic - free solution approved for children's playground equipment.

The Gate Lodge was designed to be a combined activity centre for younger children as well as a Wendy House + Fort + Sleeping den when they are older.
The upper cabin is large enough for three teenagers to sleep in comfort (although wood fires are not recommended!). Beneath the cabin is a play area 1.8m x 1.8m fitted with a table and two bench seats. There is enough room around the table to create a play area, even spread out some sand for small kids. The upper cabin can be accessed by a ladder with 5 x 40mm hardwood rungs, or the climbing wall fitted with professional grips. And not to forget the 3m green wavy slide & swing arm complete with 2 swings!.

To complement the Gate Lodge is a range of accessories including a full-sized Assault Course, Commando Net and Clatterbridge. The walls of the cabin follow a unique design which allows natural movement of the timber without having to use nails or screw, resulting in no splitting of the wood.
The overall feel of this PlayCentre is of quality construction and components. They use pressure-treated planed rectangular timber to minimise splits and cracks.

Detailed assembly instructions and all necessary fittings are provided to make construction a straightforward DIY job, although this unit is more complicated than the other Action Tramps PlayCentres and requires more planning.
